A quick one for everyone, so I realized that there are companies that only allow certified flooring contractors to use their product and no other external installer can use it. so my question is that, does this mean that if a client requests that that particular product be used, 'll automatically lose the job , example of such companies is dura flex. so as an independent installer, do I try to convince the client to go with another product or will I have to forfeit the job for a "dura flex certified installer" ?

They're not going to just let any painter, especially someone who doesnt specialize in floors, install their own product. Too many shortcuts, bad prep work, improper applications abd wrong tools, it happens all the time with floor coatings. For them, its just not worth too much hassle or risk to deal with that. That's why they have certified installers, it's practically a franchise model with set domains. Don't ever take it personally, its just how things are typically.
