How to paint over silicone caulk?

I have a job order next week and I may have to redo the silicone caulk on the walls of the bathroom lol. Is there a way to do a workaround instead? How can I paint over silicone caulk? The owner just put it everywhere. I was gonna use thinner to remove it but then I thought I could do denatured, latex caulk, prime with oil, then paint over. Is this good or do you suggest another?

Painting over silicone caulk can be tricky since paint tends to slide off. Your plan is proper. How are things now since this post was already ages ago LOL

Don't paint over silicone caulk raw. That's not possible unless you do all things considered, cleaning etc. You're still gonna do that when you do repaint actually. I've been seeing this question in this forum now. Too repetitive.

the joys of inheriting a mess, your workaround sounds thoughtful, though, denatured alcohol to clean, then a skim of paintable latex caulk over the silicone might help as a bonding layer. Still, there's always a risk of future peeling, if time allows, I'd honestly lean toward removing the silicone and starting fresh, tedious but less grief later

I don't think there's a product or process that will make paint permanently stick to silicone caulk. Silicone is a flexible, non porous material that actively repels paint, primer, and even other caulks.
Your proposed workaround of putting latex caulk over it will inevitably fail, as the new caulk won't adhere to the silicone underneath and will likely crack and peel
