Going nuts on spraying cabinets! Help!

I'm on my first day of painting kitchen cabinets and I'm already going crazy! I am using plastic, newspapers but on my second or third coat, little bits of paint flake off the masking paper/plastic and land on the wet cabinet. How do I prevent this from happening?

Green paper would be handy.

Try thicker painter's plastic or the kind with a paper edge. you can use good blue/green tape and overlap it a lot.
