I ended up with way more base paint than I actually need for my current project. Those big buckets that seemed like a good idea at the time but now are just hanging around in the garage. It's still sealed and good though , but I feel like it needs to be used up before it goes stale. How do you deal with leftover base without wasting it or letting it take up space forever and also, will the base paint still work well for tinting after sitting for a while.

Since your base paint is still sealed, it should remain good for tinting later, though its best to use it within a reasonable time to ensure consistency. Many people either save it for future projects, share or sell small portions, or use it on minor touch ups to avoid waste. Just make sure its stored properly, cool, dry and airtight to keep it from going stale
